Fair point perhaps, but this wasn't about Iraq. Iraq focused our minds on the whole question. But we couldn't argue that some wars might be alright and others not. Wars are never alright. Other campaigns are tackling the specific issues around Iraq - quite rightly so in my personal view.
Still, I take your general point. There is one similarity between peace tax and the Iraq war, which is that when you go to court over it, the answer you get (in plain English) is neither "yes" nor "no" but "Er ... that's a good argument, but we've suddenly realised this is the wrong court for it." We've been told by a magistrate that our case is "logical, but not legal." Nobody grasps the nettle. |
