Message:   I haven't done this in a while, but mom and dad came visit and, as usual, I heard a few words I hadn't heard before. I looked them up in Father Daigle's dictionary and they either weren't there or had slightly different meanings.

Chere creoti(sp?, maybe cleotile)- Oh my goodness. I remember hearing this one but hadn't in a long time.

Epaillage- clutter.

Evaporé- nervous, flustered.

Gauler- To knock down with a stick. Dad said he had never heard this word until his father was on his death bed and used it talking about knocking pecans down with a stick.

Gargotte- junk food, snacks.

Torchon- torn rag. Father Daigle defines this as a butt wipe, guess I can see the correlation.

Torchon de plancher- Mom used this referring to the habit of some old women, like her mother, who was so clean conscious they drug around an old rag on their feet in the house to keep the floor clean. This is the same woman who not only made me remove my shoes, but wash my feet before coming in the house.
