PLEASE HELP!!! MY DAD IS THREATENING TO LET HER GO ON THE STREETS!!!! I have a 8 year old female westie. She was just diagnosed with diabetes and I am not able to cover the finincial responsibility of this disease. She was the family dog and my mothers love. When my mom died last year my dad neglected her at home. I am in college and was planning on having her live with me when I go back in August, however with this new disgnosis I am afraid that I will not be able to give her the home she deserves.
She will requrie:
- daily injections of insulin (maybe even two times a day)
- The initial cost of getting her on a dose that works for her is around $450 (this includes insulin and needles for the firts month)
- Then after that it will cost around $ 70 a month to maintain
She is such a lover and a great lap dog.It breaks my heart to have to find a new home for her. I will not require a rehoming fee since I would rather that money go to her care.
