This is a Florida state site, so what city is this training place in?
German Shepherds are high energy super smart working dogs. So if your having problems, are you doing lots of both dog walking and high energy exercise? Daily, twice a day exercise?
We get up at 5am and run our sporting dog Golden Retriever offleash at the beach from 5;30-7am. If we see people or other dogs, we leash up, till were past them, then back to lots of play and exercise. That way it is easier for her to settle down for the day, till the work day is over, then a dog walk, or play in the yard, lots of fetching, practice training, or hold up the hoola hoop for jumps and tricks, practice helpful skills, etc.
The main tip is lots of daily exercise and regular training classes, that will solve most any problem.
Also, Shepherds have busy brains, so have you been taking your shepherd to training classes every week?
Agility is great fun and exercise for body and brain. German Shepherds love it and do well.
German Shepherds in our classes both regular obedience, dog games, click a trick, agility, etc, always learn faster then the other dogs. Most dogs can learn up to 200 words or commands, but most people shortchange their dogs, and only teach them 4 or 5 words/hand signals or commands. German Shepherds can easily learn lots of words, if your consistent and make sure everyone in the household uses the same word for the same thing, your Shepherd will be capable of leaning a lot.
German Shepherds love to work and be given a job. So find some way to keep your shepherd busy or take agility, or something.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
