What is Christmas about?
Once upon a time, there was/is a Covenant. The Covenant was a contract made between Man (Mankind) and God. Man’s representative was a man called Abraham. God’s representative in the contract was a priest-king called Melchezedic. The God in question was known at the time as ‘The Nameless One’. The Covenant: Worship me and follow my laws and I will take care of you and your children’s children’s children, as long as you/they follow my laws.
It would be a relatively safe assumption that the dialogues that Abraham had with the angel are dialogues with Melchezedic. After making the contract, it would also be a relatively safe assumption the Melchezedic went on to Sodom and Gomorrah. The event at Sodom and Gomorrah served a number of purposes. One is it is a lesson in what not to do. Another purpose it served was it drove home the point to Abraham just who he recently made a ‘deal’ with, in a language he would understand.
From the Covenant comes the Judaic, Christian, and Islamic religions.
To make a long story short (the bible), in the womb of Egypt part of Abraham’s family became a tribe, was birthed by Moses who also gave the Nameless One a name (I Am), a code of laws, and an alphabet.
After Moses, they established a territory, essentially becoming a spiritual commune, was ruled by God, whose ‘officials’ were judges (civil matters) and God’s mouthpieces – prophets. In time, they wanted a ruler/king/central government. (Who knows why? Better public works, mail, “Everybody else has one”…?)
The prophet – Samuel -- said this was a mistake; yet, picked the biggest guy he could find, dumped oil on his head, and said, “Okay, Saul baby, your king.” After the first few kings, Samuel turned out to be right, and things went ‘downhill’. The Covenant was being ignored and the prophets had to go ‘underground’.
God’s mouthpieces started announcing Abraham’s family will be given a king and he would come in the tradition of Melchezedic. Among many things, Christmas is a celebration of a fulfilled promise made in the Covenant.
Jesus extended the Covenant to everybody, simplified it to two rules (worship a Loving God and do on to others…), and made it much more comprehensive (“Those who are not against me are with me.”). In addition, a fully realized being -- At-Oned with God -- was murdered (an impossibility without their consent), forgave, and served as a channel to the Divine. When this event occurred, the result was a ‘spiritual door’ was left ‘open’. Most Christianity revolves around this ‘door’.
Why is this story important? With there being only one Love, along with comprehensiveness outlined by Jesus and his two laws, and if you love a loving ‘God/Goddess/Force/Whatever’ while extending that love (do on to others…), you are in the Covenant whether you know-it/believe-in-it or not.
The story around the second priest-king’s appearance (Christmas to Easter) or ‘why’ it occurred contains a lot of ‘magic’ (for lack of better words), and followed a ‘script’ laid out by the mouthpieces – prophets – hundreds of years earlier. Many have forgotten or are unfamiliar with what is important about this event.
There is an all encompassing Loving God
Mankind/You are bonded to this Loving God and are in a contract to extend love in order to receive Love
This God tends to ‘telegraph’ its ‘blows’ and keeps His/Her/Its (He Shee-It ) promises in a way that won’t leave anything out (usually, not the way one would expect)
“We are not alone.”
Celebrate in the joy of the spirit of Christmas – however you perceive it -- in your heart; for it is the joy of the Ever-present Divine Love manifesting a promise into physical form.
You are not alone!
