Message:   Many practices and yet there are common threads

What is your intention for doing your practice? What is it you see and what is it you want from you see? What is it you want in doing this practice?
All meditations involved a one-point focus on an event (either on an internal event, an external event, or a combination), a mindfulness. Chuckle, even if the mindfulness is to be empty minded.

Some exercises can be done without a spiritual reference: Om, many meditations, yogas, etc. Giving a practice a spiritual reference tends to pre-form our intention.
There are many examples of spiritual exercises and yet, very few talk about the importance of intention before performing the operation.
Our intention entering this state can be what 'colors' the event. And…remembering our intention can help us maintain our focus.

These are concepts presented in http://www.i-am-a-i.org and are discussed in a new group @ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Introduction_to_the_Mystic/post
Peace
