Ron Phillip's Memorial race
Don't know if you where aware but Ron Phillips passed away Feb. 2006. I know Ron raced at Interstate quite a bit and a lot of you knew him. Our Drag Racers Association is having a memorial race on the weekend of June 30, July 1 and 2. On Saturday is the memorial race, $3500 payout, $1500 winner, $750 r/u, $325 semi, and $150 quarters. Entrance fees are, $40 track fee for test and tune and $40 to enter the gamblers race, there will be 1st round buy back for $40. Electronics and non electronics will be seperate for two rounds, then joined together. There will be a free BBQ at the end of the day. On Sunday The Track will be having another Gamblers race with the same payout (based on 100 cars) Entrance fee for this race is $75 with first round buy back of $75, (the buy back cars will go towards the 100 cars. There will be another BBQ afterwards. On Monday will be our regular bracket program. Gimli Dragways is located just outside the town of Gimli approximately 50 miles north of Winnipeg on Highway #8.
