Close but no cigar!!

Well, can't say that we didn't try , but Probezilla just wouldn't run the 8. It was a good year none the less and we learned alot along the way. I think some slicks would've been the ticket, but oh well. Not bad for the stock block and head!! Here are some passes we made the last two days, and a link to vid of the 9.00@153.

Weak sauce.

Don't forget to mention it's a stock block, crank, rods, pistons, head, cams, valves, valve springs, etc.

Re: Close but no cigar!!

ya know, I was meaning to ask. what were you running for pressure in the slicks? Looking at some of these pictures it almost looks like the surface of the tire is starting to roll over on it's self.

Re: Close but no cigar!!

Started at 10.5 psi, and lowered it to 10 psi as the day went on.

Thx for the info Mike, I've watched the launch in slow motion about 100 times but I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for. On the initial hit, the suspension pushed downward pushing thr tires into the ground and then it appears to sorta stay there. The car spins pretty bad and the front end falls back to the ground quickly after coming off the ground. This was a 1.29 60'. Any ideas on what setup changes you'd make? We tried lowering the rear end about a inch and that didn't seem to help much. Thanks,
Duane Baatz

Re: Close but no cigar!!

Hey Dave was good to see you and the rest of the racers!

Next year I might be back for a few races. Dave Vraa a friend of mine is finaly putting his 528 Hemi together for his BUTT UGLY 60 Dodge D100. So I may have to come out and spank him with my small block.
I hate for him to have bragging rights.

But for my first winter project I pulled the stock 460 out of my jet boat. Its getting a healthy tunnel rammed 429 . I have some spare nitrous stuff laying around so I think thats going in too. Then some pump work for more top end, it only went 65.7 on the GPS

Have a great winter all and remember when the track temp is in the 140s the water is about 85 and you can drink and drive a boat
