Rumor from ET Finals has it that Guy Simmons is buying the track and Ron J. is staying on to run/manage the track. Jibber Jabber and slow olds seem to have the inside scoop on everything that goes on at the track, so any truth to this rumor. (I say rumor because I did not hear it first hand) Maybe we'll hear something from the banquet. |

I have a hard time buying into the Guy Simmons deal, although he is a great guy it would take a real man of serious money to bring this thing back from the brink that it is on...... No offense Guy. When a 1/8th mile track like Minot can bring in 10,000 spectators it says something about our currnent managment. RJ is a good man, but in the current status of OWNER/Manager..... if that is to continue the track WILL close. I have always had my ups and downs with R.J. and to be honest I have always been upset with him as a manager. We have over the years agreed to disagree, now it is time to go racing and forget about the past! I want the track to succeed and could care less who profits from the racer's admission. We have a GREAT facility and it is embarassing that the race community will not come here and race because of one individual. The PAYOUT has to CHANGE!!!! I don't care who you are or where you may be fom the payout this year was for the track and NO ONE ELSE!!!! Thanks Pat Wical S/G 5229 AKA Cisco |

10,000 Spectators in Minot for the drags? No Way!!! I race there and were lucky to normally get more than a hand full. There might be 10K on the fair ground for the whole weekend over the Motor Magic race. But only several hundred at best come to the drags. The rest are going to the other events. Somebodies figures are way off! |

Brenden, You're fully aware of the grandstands at Motor Magic and many other events. The events are fun but not profitable....non-the-less a race team can leave with a few dollars in their pockets. I find it funny that at a great facility like, I-Drags we can't even break even when you runner-up in "Super Pro" this is a game...... Why doesn't Les race here anymore, because he "KNOWS THE TRUTH" and I believe he is emabaressed to be part of this fiasco. I can say for my part I am trully sorry for asking Les,Sandy and their family to even consider becoming part of this car crash.......//// Class A NHRA Race Track.... Pat, you bet I'm aware of the grandstands at the Motor Magic event. We get several hundered spectators each day that weekend. Definately not 10K. Maybe a thousand or so if you count the racers families/crew and specators. I usually pit directly besides the gate so I have a good idea. Plus if you look at the overall available seating its way under 10K. In fact we don't have seating for even a couple thousand. |
