Probe is getting close to 8's

Matt got licensed yesterday and we got a chance to crank up the Probe a little. This is with 32 psi of boost, and a 75 shot of nitrous through first gear only. The car ran 9.34 @ 147 on turbo only, and 9.15 @ 148 with the nitrous in first gear. 8's just around the corner?

Congradulations. I have watched and heard a lot of those turbo cars that do not have the fuel curve figured out, as they cough, stumble and shoot ducks all the way down track. Yours is smooth and pulls hard.

Re: Probe is getting close to 8's

Hey Matt, what does the car weigh with you in it?
If you are 2700 lbs. it would take 800 HP to run the 1/8 at 5.88 @ 117 and the 1/4 at 9.18 @ 146.
I cannot read the time slip at the end of your video but it kinda looks like 117 at the 1/8th.
Keep up the good work and HOLD ON!!!!!!

Re: Probe is getting close to 8's

Todd, I think the car is 2750 with Matt in it. It was 5.81 @ 117.8mph in the 1/8th mile. 60' was 1.29

Re: Probe is getting close to 8's

Tried to get a 8.XX with the Probe again today, but lack of traction on the top end (street legal drags) and getting pretty sideways caused Matt to get out of it for a bit. I think we should have better luck the next bracket race weekend. FYI, this is all on a stock longblock.
