A short note...
to say Hey to all! Sorry havent been around much. Lurking mostly, cause time is very short these days. We arrived back from JA last week of Feb and March 17th I rushed my mom to the ER, where she has been diagnosed with liver cancer. Unfortunately, she will not be leaving the hospital either. I am past the shock and have been on autopilot. Dealing with consolidation of finances, hospital issues and now the selling of her house. What is normally, a busy time of year, what with the kids starting up baseball and soccer, has turned into absolute insanity with crazy demands on my time. So, there ya have it in a nutshell. Havent forgotten about all you guys, and actually wanted to join in some 'topics' but didnt have time to get my thoughts together.  W |

Winni, so sad.... My father just passed from colon cancer that had metastasized to his liver. Horrible thing to watch anyone go through!!! Prayers and love sent to your mom and your family! |

Hi Winni, What a horrible shock for all of you. I hope your mom is as comfortable as she can be, and that all of you are surrounded and supported by loving friends and family. Glad to know the boards give you a little break now & then. Hope all is well with Cam; the kids sound like they are enmeshed in their routines, lolol. Hope you can still have some magic moments with your mom. What a blessing you are to take care of her and her personal business as well as you are. Thanks for posting, I will keep you in my prayers! |

Wow! Thank you all for the love and support. I have read many ppl on the boards going through crisis in their life and stating how much it meant to them to get the support from boardies. Now I know exactly how they felt. Today, I will be speaking with the person in charge of Palliative care and begin the push to get her onto that particular ward. The one she is in now, is not how I want her living out her final days. She has lived her 77 years, being an upstanding citizen and taxpayer. The fact that she has to go through the deterioration of her body in more than enough. I want her in a private room with a bright big window to get the sunshine. Nothing is too good for my mom! Thanks again all, you have given me some renewed strength to keep going.. |

Leenda..... Long time havent seen you. Welcome back! Well, my incredible mother, who was the most independent and strongest woman I have ever known, left us on sunday May 18, wrapped in the Lord's arms. Not sure how I am feeling these days.... |

My sincere condolences.....its always a shock when someone close dies no matter how old they are. My mom passed 4 years ago at 98 and I still miss her so much. |

Thank you all for kind words. She has been my best friend for 43 years. I know it is inevitable that your parents eventually must leave you, but I expected to have her for a few more years. Can not seem to get my head around the fact that I can no longer call her. She had no regrets and neither do I. We did everything we possibly could for her and that keeps me relatively OK. |

So sorry for your loss winnie. I cannot fathom losing my mom. I am glad she did not linger in suffering for a long time. I do hope that with time, you will have peace. Glad to hear you were such good friends with your mom. |

Oh Winni! I'm so sorry you lost your mom. Haven't been on the net since i posted to you weeks ago...i'm so sorry for your loss. I know you feel all the cyber arms hugging you and all the love and comfort surrounding you from all of us. I just wish there was something we could do or say to lessen your grief.
