BLM Horse Adoptions in my backyard (almost)

I am going to my FIRST Wild Horse BLM Adoption. It will be in Castle Dale, Utah, just 6 miles from my ranch.

June 27 - 28, 2008
Michael R. Tweddell
Price Utah Field Office

The last info I had was that there might be Bleachers and it was going to be in an Indoor arena. That would be great for the people to be able to sit and great for the horses to get out of the sun! I'm not expecting much of a crowd with gas prices so high.

I will try to remember what takes place and will report what I saw. My camera is having problems today, hopefully I can get it working by adoption day. I can't get any info on which herd the BLM is planning to bring. They just say they are from "the corrals".

I can't adopt any more horses, as I already have 7 geldings, 1 Sulphur Mare, 1 wild-born Sulphur Stallion, and 1 "pure" Sulphur filly.

Also, Janet Tipton of the "IWHBA" Utah's Wild Horse mentoring group, said that some of the members plan to come to Castle Dale for the event and Mike Tweddell said that Cliff Tipton was going to give some sort of a demo with or about mustangs.

The info I got was that they were from the Gunnison Prison program so they will be gentled horses that are halter started by the inmates.

I got a corrected card in the mail about the adoption and it says it will be in the outdoor arena.....it would have been nice to have it indoors, ours here in Cedar are always indoors and that is much nicer.

I don't think many people are going to show up. We tried to fill up our gas tank yesterday, but it pump would only go up to half full.... and that was $75 !! We get 18 mpg and Chuck has been driving 55 mph when he can and around the place, he idles his way to and from the house!

When you are using a debit card, some pumps only allow up to $75.00 per visit. All you have to do is go to another gas station or it might let you start over and put in an additional $75.00 but I have never tried at the same gas station so I don't know what it would do.
