Hope and Courage

The mare was named Hope and the gelding was named Courage, but Skin and Bones better describes the Nevada pair....

Re: Hope and Courage

That really disgusts me the way people think that horses are just "throw away" items of no value. You would think that the least they could do was to just give the horses to someone that wanted them or even just take them to some kind of sanctuary, at least they would have been taken care of!!

Re: Hope and Courage

When I was doing research for my Desert Duns site, I asked for help from the Utah BLM. I couldn't find info on the North Hills HMA. I was told this, which goes along with Nevada's HOPE and COURAGE. "The North Hills HMA shares two counties, Washington & Iron. There have been reports (including recently) that private individuals have dumped horses off into the HMA (both domestic and wild) illegally.

I am afraid that this "horse dumping" will go on for awhile. It's the price of hay, gasoline, diesel, groceries, etc. Some of the Horse Rescue places I correspond with, said that they are FULL and can not take anymore and they NEED money too...
