I came out at school!!!!!!!!

On Monday I came out at school. It went like this:

In PE we have two separate classes for boys and girls, because we're playing softball and baseball, respectively. Recently I decided I can't continue pretending to be a girl, because it's just painful, and ineffective anyway, so I walked over to the boy's class that day. I ended up getting called over by my PE teacher, who has the girls. She said,
"Why are you cutting class?"
"I'm not, you sent all the eighth grade boys to play baseball.", quoth I.
"You're a girl."
"No, I'm a boy."
"I can't deal with this." She said, rather prudently, in hindsight.
She then made me run a lap around the track and go to the office. By this time, I was a nervous wreck, to the point that I puked while running, although I was determined not to let that stop me. So I finished the lap, and went to the office.

In the office, I sat for about 20 minutes, sweating buckets and twitching. Generally, I'm a 'good kid' in the eyes of the establishment, so I had no idea what they were going to do to me. As it turned out, I ended up talking to Mr S. the semi-administrator guy. He was remarkably understanding, which I didn't expect. He told me, and I came to agree, that what I had done was in essence not wrong, but I had acted rashly and should have thought ahead more. Then the school counsellor got involved, and she ended up sending an email to all of my teachers telling them that I'm a boy, so please switch the pronoun. Victory!

Re: I came out at school!!!!!!!!

That is AWESOME!! I did the same thing. Luckily, I moved alot so when I just introduced myself as a boy or got involved in the boy things no one ever questioned. I was lucky in that department, but I am also a determined person and I would never let anything stop me. I tink it is cool that you stood up for what you feel. Who cares what others say we know we are male. It's cool that the authorities were understanding. Back in the day it wasn't as accepted, but thanks to education to society people are getting the picture. Syd, keep being yourself and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!!
