Although i tend to agree with most of your points, i feel we should give the teenagers a chance as they were and still are using the bin. The drinking of alcohol obviously does concern me but working with the police i feel this could be discouraged.By removing the bench all we have done is moved the problem to somewhere else where they can not so easily be seen and as two parents have said at least they could 'drive by' and keep an eye on their kids. unfortunately the kids in question dont want to use the skatepark, they just want to hang out and chat. Maybe we all need to talk more to the kids, they are not aliens and as has been said before respect works both ways.I think its a shame that the situation wasnt discussed with the kids and residents before the removal of the bench, maybe if it had of been the matter could,ve been resolved differently. As a mum of two teenage boys myself i thank you for your offer to help organise something for the kids of the village, maybe some of us could get together to see whst we can come up with. |
