The Cash machine at the BP garage on the Causeway at Billing has been tampered with and if you used it in the last few days, your card details and pin number may have been cloned.
The machine had a false front on it covering the part where you put your card in and take the money out. It looked exactly like the real thing except that it was brand new and had a small rectangular mirror to the right on the card slot.
I noticed that it was more difficult to get the cash card out afterwards as it did not come out as far as normal and on further investigation, discovered that the front was only attached by sticky pads!
If you noticed anything different as I described when you used the cash machine in the last few days, you might like to contact your bank and let them know in order to prevent anyone using your details.
The false front was removed at 9.30 a.m today, 21/12/05 so the machine is now safe to use.
The police and Lloyds bank/TSB who own the machine have been informed.
