1)Again, while you are off "researching", look up 'logical fallacies'( I recomend you start at www.datanation.com/fallacies/ ) and in particular the "Strawman" fallacy.
If you do not wish to respond then simply don't respond.
However, if you ARE going to respond then you are obligated to respond to the ACTUAL ARGUMENTS made...not tackle some strawman you built to represent some guy who loses sleep over the issue or thinks the issue anymore important than YOU do.
You cannot have it both ways guy. Either it is unimportant to you and you don't respond or you are responding and even starting new threads to defend Kris' alleged potential.
If the latter, then you cannot then turn around anhd chastise ME for refuting your assertions.
I have NEVER, EVER "gotten all worked up" about this stuff guy(what a silly charge!?). My responses are longer than yours simply because I am addressing your counterpoints, fallacious as they may be. If I chose to ignore what you actually said and simply called you names or attacked your character then my responses would be as short as yours.
Tell me who would seem to be more "worked up": The guy sticking to the arguments or the guy making things personal and attacking the other ala ad hominem?
2)Yeah, comics are not your life and none of this is very important to you and yet you never waste an oppurtunity to tell us that you are writing professionally or have written for Caliber, Blue Moon, etc.
Incidentally, a number of BAD writers also worked for Blue Moon(re: Dave Marchman) and even Caliber. With a little effort ANY aspiring comics scribe, regardless of talent or lack thereof could have gotten a gig working at Blue Moon or dozens of other companies.
3)Again, my views, which I dare say would be shared by anyone who knew the first thing about writing, have NOTHING to do with me "feeling like a man" or "losing sleep" or any such nonsense.
Kris was a terrible writer(and that is being generous) and it is remarkably easy to demonstrate this fact. You seem to WANT to disagree as evidenced by your continued half-hearted replies here but you also seem to recognise that it is an impossible task to defend Kris' writing and so you also concede this point but then turn around and attack ME personally for having the gaul to state such.
Good luck with your articles and I know what a pain research can be so you ahve my sympathies.--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: This is clearly more of a big deal to you than it is to me. Seems to me every comment I make results in you getting all worked up to the point you have to write a long-winded response to my comments. You seem to be the one getting all worked up. I really don't give a darn one way or the other to be quite honest. Comics aren't my life and I don't get all worked up about them unlike you seem to. But to each his/her own I suppose. I just hope that your feelings about Kris' comics doesn't keep you awake at night. Sound to me that it might. Again; to each his/her own.
Me, personally, I've got other fish to fry right now. I personally find this all fairly tiresome. If it makes you feel like a Man to say you've won your arguement so be it. Don't matter to me one way or the other. Me, I've gotta run now. I've got two articles to write and some research to do. Have a good night. Jonathan A. Gilbert |
