If you're still doing artwork, I'd love to see some, BTW. I always enjoy seeing the work of other artists.
Back in 1994 or so I came down with type 1 diabetes. At the time I was still sort of interested in eventually doing comics(in '93 I was teaching workshops to kids on dynamic anatomy and comic book illustration. Not that I am qualified to do so but I did know quite a bit and the kids wanted me to teach them so...*shrug*). I continued doing artwork for various punk, hardcore adn a few metal bands in teh Tacoma & Seattle areas but I never managed to break into comics.
Nowadays I have done some graphics work for freeware computer RPGs but my diabetes has made drawing and painting a chore(some days it is impossible) because of the damge done by the seizures I have when my blood sugar falls too low. I probably have some older stuff around somewhere and if I get my scanner working I will put it on a web page just for archival purposes.
Strangely enough, here it is some 17 years later, and I may be getting back into some indy comics work. Weird how that stuff comes back around!
Glad to hear it! Of course I would be most interested in seeing whatever you are working on! BAck when I was collecting comics pretty heavy I would love to pull out the older and usually quite rare stuff by Erik Larsen(Graphic Fantasy # 1 & 2 which had 400 issues or so printed, Megaton), Ron Lim(Eradicators, Ex-Mutants), Tom Grummett(Shadowalker, Privateers) and the like to show to the guys who were unaware of the early independetn stuff these guys did before they went on to fame and fortune(well...fame at least). |
