Well, I do appreciate the kind words! I agree that #2 was an improvement, and IIRC, #3 was as well... My main problem (besides shaky anatomy and lousy perspective...little things like that... ) was inking...I was a lousy inker back then, and absolutely hated the process. I'd asked Kris a few times to put an inker on the book, but he refused...I think he liked what I was doing, which I appreciated, but still...
I did design Victim's costume. The first thing I did for SW were several costume designs, and Kris ended up picking that one. And yes, I was a fan of the Archie/Red Circle superheroes as well! You have a good eye!
Bummer about your portfolio, that is truly frustrating! A lot of artists have lost work that way, but that doesn't make it any easier when it happens to you. I wish I'd kept photocopies of #3, quite honestly, and I'd do so today, but as numbers 1 & 2 came out without a hitch I wasn't really too worried about it. When the end came for SW, it came pretty fast.
If you're still doing artwork, I'd love to see some, BTW. I always enjoy seeing the work of other artists.
Strangely enough, here it is some 17 years later, and I may be getting back into some indy comics work. Weird how that stuff comes back around! |
