Yes, I own Victim #1 & #2(and most of the other SW comics). The art did have a certain charm about it(Brian J. Reidel, the artist on GMC's "EDGE", is another guy whose art had character but his early covers were the worst I had ever seen) but yeah...issue #1 was pretty bad. #2 showed some real improvement though. Certain panels...with the grey tones and such came out decent(going by memory here as my comics are boxed up). Being the weirdo I am I would kill for a #3!
BTW, did you design Victim's look/costume? I always thought his look reminded me of the old Red Circle/Archie superhero books from the 60's(The Web, The Fly, The Crusaders etc.).
I can identify with wanting to see the finished product or at least your artwork again. I remember giving some guys a portfolio back in the early 90's. They were supposedly looking for artists for their indie comics company and I gave 'em a completely penciled 6 page story, a penciled and inked 4 pager, a few splash/covers and some other stuff and I never heard from them again. For all I know they used the stuff I gave them (to "look over") in some local 'zine or someone's dog ****** on it. Doesn't compare to a whole 21 page book w/cover but for years I was kind of bothered by the incident. |
